Neal and Libby get married!

On Saturday, June 21st, Neal McQuarie and Libby Frank said, "I do!"

Link to Picasa web albumIt was a great time in Granby and Winter Park. I caught up with Neal's mom and brother whom I have not seen in 11 years!

I made the trek over Trail Ridge road on Thursday to be in Granby in time for the bachelor/bachelorette party. Friday was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Then on Saturday it was Alpine Sliding, putt-putt golf and then the wedding! The weather was perfect, the wedding went smoothly and then the party commenced! What a great time.

Congratulations Neal and Libby!

40th birthday in Las Vegas!

Well the 40th birthday party was a big success. Only one broken metatarsal and a couple of hangovers, so I am going to call it a victory!

Andrew and I met up on Tuesday night at McCarran airport and a crazy celebration ensued.

Brian and Amy arrived next on Wednesday evening. While going to the plane at DIA they ran into R.E.M. heading to Chicago from their recent performance at Red Rocks. Brian shook hands with and talked to Michael Stipe!

Tiana, AJ, Jason and Erin all arrived on Thursday evening. Friday was spent by the pool getting sunburned. We all gathered for dinner Friday night and two renditions of Happy Birthday were sung by the group backed up by the rest of the restaurant. Andrew pulled off the old, "I've got to go to the bathroom" trick and much to my surprise a birthday cake was delivered.

General Craps, Blackjack, and Slots fun was had by all. There were a couple of other celebrity sightings as well, Abraham Benrubi, James Carville and his wife Mary Matalin. Not that anyone is keeping score, it was just kind of fun to see them as sort of real people!

Tiana was stepped on by a stiletto heel while dancing and suffered the broken metatarsal, but she was able to shop and dance for another whole day before going to the hospital! What a trooper!

Thank you to all who came to Vegas to help celebrate and to all who texted and called to wish me a happy birthday!

It was a milestone celebration to remember!

Rally Software!

After 4 phone interviews and a 3 hour in-person interview today with Rally Software, I got this email from them:

Hi Michael,

It was a pleasure meeting you today. We are interested in having you join us at Rally and would like to perform a reference check.

If you could provide us with the names and contact information for at least 3 references (at least one should be someone you reported to) we can move the process forward.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Ashley Green
Rally Software Development

Join our award winning team!

I am very excited about this opportunity. The company is growing like crazy and the world looks to them for answers on Agile Software Development Methodology and software to track the projects.

I am not counting any chickens yet, just getting them gathered up and put in the same basket...

Chicago, May 2008

At the end of May I took a trip to Illinois to visit grandma and watch a couple of the Colorado Rockies vs. Chicago Cubs games at Wrigley Field as well!

What a spectacular trip. The last time I was at Wrigley Field was a looooong time ago with my grandma and grandpa. Ah the memories. What a great time!

The Cubs swept the series!

The visit with grandma was a lot of fun! She was gung-ho to get out and about in Monmouth. We did way too much and she was worn out at the end of the day. But at 92 she is still going strong! What an incredible lady...
