Sabine and I keep talking about how I should post more things here. About how like Martha, wearing a vest, went up to one of the fathers in our daycare recently and said, "Look! I have a sweater with without-arms (mit ohne Ärmel)!" It goes back to when she was much smaller and used to always ask for her "tights with without-socks (mit ohne Socken)," which were just leggings.

Cy has his own doozies these days. He learned how to use a bottle opener and one night came into the kitchen and asked for the "beer opener."

"Cy, maybe it's better if we just call it your opener."

"Can I please have my opener?" He opened the bottle and took a drink. "Can I now have the closing opener (zuöffner)?" He meant a little plug we put in his bottles because he only drinks about a quarter cup of anything at one sitting.

Then two weekends ago they were in the car. "Can I have an Internet?" We asked him what he meant and he just kept saying he needed an Internet. Fair enough, we thought, early adopter -- only we didn't know how to give him an Internet so we just kept asking what exactly he wanted. "One of those things that shows where we live." He meant a map because he always hears us saying, "I'll print out some directions from the Internet."

Sunday we went to the Wildpferdgehege in Liebenthal, north of Berlin. The first time we were there we were shadowed by a pack of about 10 baby pigs of various kinds. They are all older now, and you may buy them if you like.

Martha made this sign last night to remind everyone that I am not invited to her birthday party (next year). She accused me of being mean after Cy tipped over a bottle of Bionade. My argument that he opened the bottle just because it was fun and knocked it over because he was treating it as a toy rather than a beverage held no water. I am no longer welcome at her birthday party.
