I'm very grateful I got to spend summers on my grandfather's farm. I haven't a clue why and mulling it over the last two weeks hasn't brought any enlightenment. I got to thinking about it (as you would say on the farm) after watching Cy marvel at all the animals and asking questions about them over Easter at Sabine's grandmother's house. I haven't really been able to connect the dots at to why animals are so important to children but they just seem to be. Other than the tasting delicious part, of course.

na, das ist eben doch was anderes als kinderbauernhof in berlin. da ist fuettern ja fast immer verboten - und ueberhaupt. sieht jedenfalls nach viel spass und entspannung aus in ostwestfahlen (?). da passt "charlotte's web" ja wunderbar, bei so viel liebe fuer schweine. viel spass mit wilbur und co.!
